I am sending sweet, soft solstice blessings to you all today dear friends.
Solstice means standstill: a day of the sun standing still. The winter solstice is when the light rests most deeply into the quiet of darkness, before expanding back into its radiant fullness.
Like the pause at the end of an exhalation, solstice invites us to stop. As if descending into a deep, soft valley and becoming still, so that we can look back at the winding path which brought us to this moment with tender gratitude and growing wisdom. And we can look ahead to the path not yet travelled, knowing only that it winds towards the next mountain peak.
Right here we can be still. Right now we can rest. Loving, listening, present. Gathering resources. Being love.
I have a small whatsapp group of friends who have attended retreats and workshops with me, and most days we share a Be Love message. It’s a twist on the Be Real phenomena, where photos of this moment are shared with friends: a potentially sweet invitation which easily becomes twisted into a daily reminder to Be Perfect instead. So our practice is to share short meditations which bring us home to love each day. I’m sharing today’s Be Love with you all from my hibernation cave, to offer a small breath of kindness, softness and quietness on this special day.
❤️
Take a soft, slow breath in through the nose, and breathe out with a sigh or a sound.
Become still in your body, letting this stillness spread through you like the sound of silence.
Place your hands on your heart and belly and feel the rise and fall of your breath.
Close your eyes to receive the song that is this moment, whether harmonious or discordant, and hold it with love.
I love you… I’m listening… I’m here
Stay for as long as you like, resting, receiving, breathing.
When you are ready, take a soft, slow breath in through the nose and breathe out with a sigh or a sound, knowing you are held in love’s stillness and silence, always.
❤️
Peace and metta to you Ayala xx
🙏❤️
